The CRFU were proud to present Sam with a Cornwall shirt following the bad news that his World Cup shirts had been stolen from his car in 2019.
‘Due to Covid we had not been able to get the purpose made shirt to Sam, but Colin Hatch was meeting him this week so it seemed an opportune time.’ Said Cornwall Chairman Dave Saunter.
Sam was pleased to receive it and added;
‘It was a huge honour to receive the Cornwall shirt and wanted to say a massive thanks to everyone involved at the CRFU.
“It was not many years ago I was wearing the “Black and Gold” at Twickenham, and then lucky enough to play in the Championship, Royal Navy, Premiership, Top 14 and of course in the World Cup with Fiji.
The Black and Gold shirt still holds a massive place in my heart.’
