Match Official Abuse from 1st January 2024
The RFU Head of Judiciary has issued new guidelines in respect of Match Official Abuse cases as and from 1st January 2024.
The CRFU policy of adding 1 week aggravation to proven cases has now been replaced by a national aggravation policy, which CRFU Disciplinary will be implementing immediately. The aggravation sanctions are now much more severe!
These new regulations DO NOT apply to Age Grade rugby. Therefore the CRFU 1 week aggravation for cases of Match Official Abuse will continue to be applied in any Age Grade cases.
Please read and take note of the new guidance in the link

Season of Goodwill at Perranporth
Perranporth RFC social secretary Joe Martin has been organising food collections over the last few weeks, a mix of Brewers players ‘bring and thing’ and donations from players led to a bumper food bank collection.
Perran Community Support, which runs the Community Fridge each week, said: “We are so very grateful to the members of the Rugby Club for their fundraising efforts that resulted in the mountain of festive goodies and other foods presented to us last Saturday – all of which will give our clients a better and happier Christmas. Thank you all so much!”.
Very proud of the lads for thinking of people less fortunate at Christmas.
Stevie Arthur Chairman PRFC
Well done to all at Perranporth showing great community spirit at what can be a very difficult time of the year for far too many fellow citizens.
Cornwall Under 18s score 6 tries in Somerset win
Match Report – Cornwall U18’s 30 v Somerset 5
17th December 2023 @ Hartpury College
Report by: Oscar Marr
The boys made their second trip to Hartpury to take on a physical Somerset side in their penultimate game of the SW tournament.
With better conditions the team got off to a flyer, with Sam Vickery going over early to give the lads an early lead. High physicality in defence led to errors from Somerset which were swiftly converted into points from the Cornwall boys. With just under 15 minutes played Sam Vickery went over for his second to push the lead to 10 points.
After the strong start from the pack the backs were eager to show what they could do with the remainder of the first half, a slick combination of moves led to Harry Rigg crashing over to strengthen Cornwall’s grip on the game.
The first half ended in positive fashion as a 4th try was scored by Aaron Jones, and a passion in defence continued to show, leaving Somerset scoreless at the end of the half.
With the beginning of the second half the team were keen to show more of the same and carry the
momentum through to the final whistle. Cornwall started off the half positively but attacking flourishes
were blundered with minor mistakes in crucial areas. However, they stuck to it, and a dominant scrum
followed by a moment of magic from Jowan Wilding led to a length of the pitch score. After this the second half was played in similar fashion to the first. A strong set piece, paired with a precise and pacey back line continued to pile on the pressure. Unfortunately, a lot of the pressure went to waste. With the theme of silly mistakes making the job hard work.
The momentum inevitably swayed and Somerset dug out a try through some brutal play from their forwards. Once again, the boys bounced back and the second half was finished on a high note as backs play was finished off in the corner by Oscar Marr.
The game finished 30 points to 5 in favour of the Cornish lads, another strong performance. In a game
riddled with mistakes, moments of brilliance shone through constantly in a convincing win which was
enjoyed by all involved.
Squad: Dan Bennett, Aaron Jones, Sam Vickery, Bailey Hadfield, Seb Dash, Jude Hardy, Ashton Rowe, Jack
Jenkin, Fin Stuart, Olly Pellow, Ted Kullich, Harvey Brough, Harry Rigg, Callum Phillips, Jowan Wilding,
Charles Byron, Joe Court, Jack Green, Issac Jago (Capt), Kaea Griffiths, Ross McKnight, Pierce Ford, Oscar Marr.
Tries: Vickery (2), Rigg, Wilding, Jones, Marr.

Cornwall U.18s settle for draw in opener
Match Report – Cornwall U18’s 25 v Buckinghamshire 25
3rd December 2023 @ Hartpury College
The squad departed early Sunday morning, and was greeted by cold mizzle upon arrival at Hartpury College. This was the U18 squad’s first competitive county fixture.
Saving their strength on the way up by sleeping for most of the journey, the boys were quick to switch on for the warm-up and looked impressive in the captain’s run throughs.
From the off, Cornwall had to soak up some early pressure, and held firm to keep Buckinghamshire from crossing the line. After the first 5 mins, where Cornwall were mainly defending, the team started to gain confidence in very tricky conditions, going through the phases to score the first try.
For the rest of the half Cornwall controlled the game’s tempo and looked threatening whenever they had the ball. They scored one further try, but conceded two.
At half time the bench was released, with all the subs gelling in straight away. Cornwall were still the better team, scoring another three tries. This was, however, matched by Bucks, including a penalty try (that most of the spectators were confused by). So, at the final whistle, we had to settle for a draw.
Over the 70 mins, it was one of those rare occasions where you couldn’t pick out individuals, as it was just an excellent, all-round team performance. All 22 boys played as one unit, putting in big tackles, going through phases and taking opportunities when they came. With a strong base to work from, this promises to be a great team to watch in the next two games.
Squad: Dan Bennett, Charles Byron, Joe Court, Jack Jenkin, Bailey Hadfield, Issac Jago (Capt), Seb Dash, Idris Logan, Oscar Marr, Ted Kullich, Olly Pellow, Harry Rigg, Jowan Wilding, Ross McKnight, Aaron Jones, Sam Vickery, Jack Green, Jude Hardy, Ashton Rowe, Callum Phillips, Fin Stuart, Harvey Brough.
Tries: McKnight (2), Logan, Vickery, Rigg.
Coaches: Andy Hawken, LJ Colick.
