Cornwall U15 Representative Rugby 21st February 2022
Cornish U15 boys will have the opportunity to pull on the black and gold shirt as they start
their journey along the representative pathway.
The CSP satellite Monday night centres have been active through the Autumn and Spring
terms with coaches extending the skills of this age group. The number of players reflects the
interest in rugby through schools and clubs and the skills centres. 120 boys will be making
the journey to Weston Hornets RFC to play in 5 teams against Bristol Schools on 21st
February which is the Monday of half term.
Rich Phillips has coordinated the event so boys have the chance to wear black and gold.
The first 3 games will kick off at midday with the final two games at 2.00pm. The boys will
wear their club shorts and socks but will be provided with a match shirt for their game.
If all goes well there will be two more opportunities for u15s with a festival planned to
coincide with the senior Cornwall fixture against Crawshays at Camborne in April and then
games against Devon scheduled for May.
All being well these boys will continue their rugby journey into U16 County rugby and the
U17s and U18s game with players having the opportunity to go on to play for South West
representation and then U20 rugby in the Jason Leonard Championships.
Cornwall U16 representative Rugby March 2022
Following the first opportunities last December for Cornwall boys to play for their county
against Devon there are fixtures scheduled for 6th March.
Five teams will be selected from clubs, schools and the central group that meets at Truro
College on Tuesday nights.
Two teams will be travelling to Bath and a further three will play Bristol Schools at Truro
College with games kicking off at 11.30am, 12.45pm and 2.00pm.
The large number of boys that have trained at this age group shows the strength and interest
in rugby in our County.
Rich Phillips will coordinate the contact of players to ensure that Cornish boys can continue
their journey through representative rugby and rise to the challenge that County rugby
provides.
A further opportunity to play County rugby for U16s is scheduled for Sunday 27th March
when it is planned to play fixtures in Cornwall against Somerset.
