Cornwall u16s v Devon u16s Sunday 5th December.
This Sunday is the first opportunity in some while for Cornwall’s developing Rugby players to wear
the famous Black and Gold shirt and represent their county at Redruth Rugby Club.
There are three games kicking off at 10.00 am, 12.00 noon and 2.00pm. The players have trained at
Truro College as a central venue on Tuesday nights through the autumn led by Rich Phillips, Phil Olds
and Marlen Walker. The coaches talk about the good attitude, developing skills and team work that
has been achieved and are looking forward to the test that Devon teams will provide.
CRFU Youth Chairman, Tony Knightsbridge, is delighted that Cornish boys from the county’s schools
and clubs will once again get the chance to play representative rugby. He spoke about the support
the boys get from their families, schools and clubs and looks forward to the selected teams being a
credit to themselves and their county.
The U16s group are very grateful to Redruth hosting the games at this point in the season and are
also pleased with the support from Cornwall RRS providing the team of three officials.
