It is with great sadness that Cornwall RFU have learned of the passing of former Cornwall & Penryn player Colin Kneebone. Colin was a tremendous lock and was part of the Cornwall team that played in the 1969 County Championship Final at Redruth against Lancashire, a final Cornwall lost 11-9.
The President of the CRFU John Sumnall and the Officers of the CRFU wish to express their sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Colin at this sad time.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday 29th June at Penmount Crematorium 11 am, then afterwards at Penryn RFC.

It is with great sadness that we have learnt of the death of Colin Kneebone. Always known as Knocker, Penryn born Colin was a player of truly exceptional talent who played for Penryn and Cornwall in the mid 60s and into the early 70s (pictured above centre back row). A strong and athletic second row Colin played with outstanding physical force but also with tremendous flare. Many will remember his trademark runs, ball held high in one hand. Colin was a key member of the Cornwall team that played Lancashire in the 1969 County Championship Final. A powerful and skilful player on the field, Colin was a person of rare charm and charisma off it. A true gentleman who always had time for everyone. On behalf of all at Penryn Rugby Club, our heartfelt condolences to Colin’s wife Angela and their children Sarah and Treve and families.
