CRFU Tournament Guidelines
GUIDELINES FOR AGE GROUP MATCHES including
COUNTY GAMES, KNOCK-OUT CUP FINALS & FESTIVALS
Both the Age Group and the Host Club have clear responsibilities for the success of the day, but it is the duty of the Age Group to ensure there is good liaison between the two to achieve this. Whilst most of the points are obvious to the experienced administrator, the aim is to provide a checklist which perhaps new administrators will find helpful.
A. Responsibilities of the Age Group
- To appoint a member of your club / age group to act as an official on the day.
- This official will deal with parents / spectators and coaches in your age group to make sure they keep to the code of conduct regarding discipline, respect and the values of rugby.
3. To make the initial contact with the Host Club and to discuss with them the following arrangements where appropriate:-
(a) manning the gate and admission charges. (if applicable)
(b) sale of programmes.
(c) car parking.
(d) public address system.
(e) catering requirements and method of payment.
(f) availability of bar.
(g) availability of St. Johns Ambulance.
4. To provide medical cover by:-
(a) ensuring that St. Johns Ambulance is in attendance (see 1g. above).
(b) providing a qualified First Aider, together with fully equipped First Aid box.
(c) nominating a person to act as hospital car service.
5. To provide kit, including spares for the team.
6. To host the opposition during their stay at the ground.
7. To ensure the maximum financial return on the event through:-
(a) match advertising – posters, press, radio and T.V.
(b) sponsorship.
(c) charging admission.
(d) programme sales.
B. Responsibilities of the Host Club
1. To liaise with the Age Group as per A.1 above
2. To ensure preparation and marking of pitch(es), provision of flags, water bucket and sponge, balls, oranges.
3. To ensure changing rooms are clean and showers are working.
C. Responsibility of the Cornwall R.F.U.
1. To invite one of the CRFU Care Practitioners to attend.
